Event Details:

- Learn about the roles of genetic counselors

- Participate in discussions with current counselors

- Learn about the admissions process and tips to strengthen your application from program directors

- Network with faculty and students of the Northwestern University Genetic Counseling Program

-$10 registration fee includes breakfast and lunch

9:00-9:30am - Breakfast and Registration

9:30-10:30am - Introduction to Genetic Counseling

10:30am-Noon - Genetic Counseling Specialties and Case Examples

Noon-1:00pm - Networking Lunch with Faculty and Students from the NU Graduate Program

1:00-2:00pm - Psychosocial and Ethical Issues in Genetic Counseling

2:00-3:30pm - Genetic Counseling Graduate School Applications and Admissions - Cathy Wicklund, Northwestern Program Director

3:30-4:00pm - Concluding Remarks

The Northwestern University Chicago campus is very accessible by Chicago public transportation

If you need to drive, parking passes are available for purchase. Parking passes must be purchased by August 3rd. Parking passes will not be available for purchase after this date.  Pre-purchased passes will be available for pick up at registration. The parking ramp is located at 222 E. Huron St. Chicago, IL 60611.
